Someone once said, “Clothes alone doth not make the outfit, so bringeth the extra!” Okay…me…I am the someone! Hey, I know my faults. I love accessories! I’ve been known to bring a suitcase full of jewelry, scarves, clutches, etc. with me to a shoot, even though I’ve already planned out the entire look. These extra pieces can bring life to an ensemble, and who are we to deny a look life?

 

This summer has more trends than I care to count, but my favorites are the ones are that we can pull off easily. Here are three:

 

Pop Blue Accessories — Add a pop of blue to update your go-to outfits. The fun behind this trend is the vast amount of options you can try throughout the season. An electric blue handbag, like the Fendi Mon Tresor Bucket Bag, or Gianni Bini Camwren Platform sandals are a couple of great ways to get attention. 70s Sunglasses — Ditch the round sunglasses and get to the retro, unbothered appeal of '70s sunnies. The instant vintage glamour they add to any outfit is easy to incorporate. I'm still loving the sophisticated-yet-amazingly-priced sunnies from Target we used for the LAYOP S/S ’21 campaign shoot. And try not to drool behind the tortoise and Tiffany Blue® acetate square sunglasses from Tiffany & Co! 

 

Beaded Beachy Necklaces — If you can’t get to the ocean, bring the ocean to you! Embrace the summer vibes by layering and mixing all your beaded jewels with pearls, shells, or medallion necklaces. Kendra Scott and Cabi Clothing (both accessory favorites of LAYOP stylists) have simple and elaborate choices to try out the trend!
